Hey all, I give to you now the second of our battle reports from the weekend's festivities. Here it's Throck vs. Rotny in a tankapalooza of tread head goodness. Both of us decided to throw down our tank armies in a classic Soviet on German battle. Who wins? Read on to find out.

Here we have a classic tank battle. Throck's Panzerkompanie vs. Rotny's Gvardeyskiy Tankovy Batalon. We pointed out at 1750 in a Free For All scenario. We're fighting over Buckinghamshire in the operation Sealion Campaign.

DEPLOYMENT SUMMARY

PanzerThrock: Throck decided to set up a base of fire with the 3 Panthers and the 1iC on his left objective while throwing the Tigers, 2iC and Panzer IV's on a flanking mission up towards the weak side of the Czech line. Rotny's Czech Guards Tanks: Rotny was working to set up a weak side trap. He put his 5 squad T-34/s on the German right and the Bulk of his tanks on the German left in the hopes that Throck would dedicate the balance of his forces to the weak side. If Rotny got the first turn (he didn't) he'd be able to dispose of the PZIV's and set up a strong defense against the 3 remaining German tanks.

TURN 1 SUMMARY

PanzerThrock: Throcks left Panthers move into position in the fields and the PZ Iv's start to move up while and the Tigers Hold and start laying fire into the weak side Czech Tanks scoring 2 kills. Rotny's Czech Guards Tanks: Rotny was not super happy with losing the first turn, even with the +1 to his roll. He had to suffer through Tiger shots to his 34s and due to the kills and the proximity of the PZ IV's he felt he couldn't move his Weak side forward to engage further. The German left with the large 34 and IS-2 platoons shot a ton of rounds into the Panthers and did no damage.

PanzerThrock: End game, the Tigers move up and end the 1iC while the Panthers Hold. Rotny's Czech Guards Tanks:

Throck wins it 6-1. Tank on tank games are all about fire a movement, making sure you're the first one to get a solid round of firing is really key. Luckily this time that was Throck. While the weight of fire gutted the PZ-IV's the dice gods were very much against Rotny, he was throwing 20 shots at a time into either the Panthers or the Panzers and simply could not get a kill. The IS-2's also had horrible dice luck doing nothing much in their three turns of life. Rotny has committed to learning this list and making it work. Throck has decided to drink from the Keg of Victory after a heartbreaking loss earlier in the weekend.
