Honestly, mounted infantry is why I play. Tanks, and the whole WW2 history thing, brought me to the game but I stick around because the mounted infantry is just so cool. When I get around to put together my midwar army, it's going to be blitzdoughs. Maybe I just like painting transports, I don't know.
Here, we've got my first two platoons of paznergrenadiers, with their half tracks. They are, mostly, BF grenadiers with winter gear. Let me know what you think!
Also, if anyone has any solid ideas on how to get clear shots of single stands of troops let me know. Some of them turned out good, but I can't seem to get consistent results.

I'm - invariably - a "fusspot" when it comes to doing stands - or tanks - and one of the things I maintain is, that creativity is 5% luck and 95% accident! For instance, the camodesign of my tanks of the Black Watch or the 417th Finnishgruppen and the Kampfengruppen Tottenhauffen have all been qualified as inspired mistake! Infantry stands - or anything else - also follows that same principle. An accidental splodge of paint on any, can be a fortunate mistake of both co-incidence and inspiration. It applies to other aspects of modelling or painting & building, and can lead to some - VERY - impressive works indeed.!
ReplyDeleteAs an example, take the paint scheme of the Kampfengruppen Tottenhauffen, I used the same dark green colour of the Allied Tanks, and then applied grey and graveyard brown to two Stug G's and 2 Sd/kzf 231 (6-Mar) Armoured Cars, that paintjob, attained the compliment of one of my friends, because I'd approached it with a notion in mind. The Kampfengruppen Tottenhauffen is a new notion for consideration in the future, for FOW gaming at Arnhem in Sept 1944. And something, I'll start after October of THIS year..
Anyhow, Throck.. Hope that, this long-worded response will assist you in your task, only too delighted to offer my backing, and advice on this occasion. Be prepped to be a right royal "Fusspot" is one of the most solid of advices I can give!
