Can you guess where I am?

I'm on the road! So I thought I'd post a quick trifecta of blogs this evening covering some of the work I've done over the last month or so.

First up, my early war French. With which I got 5th place a recent tournament, not bad if I do say so my self. The only dude who beat me was the illustrious Scott from Itty Bitty Soldiers and WWPD fame. I'll get you next time.

As my internet is crap in the hotel room and it'll take some time to up load these I'm going to keep it short and sweet. I'll just say the Panhards and Somuas were a joy to paint. Infantry is always a bear though. But, i think everything turned out quite nicely.

A note on the pics, it appears I had a crappy color correction going on so it's a bit blue shifted. I'm going to try to get some cleaner pics when I get some gumption but I think these will work for now :)

Constructive Criticism always welcome. Now, on to the pics!

As you've probably noticed, we've not been posting much at all these last few weeks. Election season is extremely busy for me with travel and long hours and all sorts of other craziness.

I and the other guys who help out around here are still playing, painting and having much FOW fun, in fact I have a few blog posts on the back burner that will be coming out in the next few weeks (hopefully).

But please do excuse the absence, I've had a hell of a lot of fun growing this blog over the last 6 months or so and will continue to do so once that whole Presidential election thing is over.

Until then I urge you all to do two things: First, HAVE FUN! And...

If you're in the states do as the nice lady says on November 6th.

1750 Panzer Lehr for NOVA

So I and a couple of crew members are going to be heading off to NOVA open to play in the late war tournament. This will be our first FOW tournie ever and we're all starting to get pretty excited about it. If you've read the blog at all you know I love my mechanized Germans. But I decided I wanted to try and go tank free in this one. Suicide you say?

Well, hopefully not. I've brewed up a list that I think should be able to handle both infantry and tanks lists and should be relatively solid on offence and defense.

On defense I feel the list can hold up well with it's large number of AT assets. Intersperse them with that tough as nails Lehr grenadier infantry and I've got a serious number of AT tubes facing down any incoming tanks.

On offense I can sit the less mobile PaK40's and 88's in the back near my objective while Grille's, Recon and Grens head towards the win.

I think the primary weakness here is AA, and while I'm a little worried about it, I do think the list should be able to handle any incoming strikes as either I'm moving to engage infantry or tanks are moving to engage me.

I'm very interested in folks opinion here, let me know what you think!

Hey all, please welcome our newest player and newest poster CrazyYank! He's our second American player and will be rolling with armored rifles out of BB&G to start off. Today, he's kindly sent over his first ever batch of painted 15mm mini's! A set of 5 M4A3's from Plastic Soldier Company. I've known CrazyYank for a good long time, he's a great modeler, fun to play with and a straight up good painter.

Thank god he sent these over I'm on the road for the next two weeks so I'll be relying on my ever growing team of painters and players to keep the blog lively.

I'm looking forward to our bat reps and more painted content. Welcome to the team Crazy!

Also, very soon, I'll be asking you all for content as well!

Of course that's classified and now I'll have to shoot you.

Battlefront 8.8's, Winter War Style

Hey all, today I bring you another installment of show and tell. I'm on the road in sunny, humid South Carolina so I thought it might be good to show you all some wintery German 8.8's from Battlefront. This is the 8.8 FlaK36 set with the extra crew option (not shown here). I decided not to paint the crew in winter whites as, from what I understand, they were not issued the same winter gear as the front line grenadiers.

I've found out since then that the shells would be different colors depending on the type of ammunition. So, yeah, historical accuracy be damned. I find that I really liked the set and you can build it so that you can still elevate the gun. I was however given a bit of a mispack I think as one of the crew was repeated a few too many times. All in all, a good solid cast with a wicked sweet base and very intuitive to put together.

While I'm Away

So, maybe starting the blog three days before I leave on a week long trip to San Francisco wasn't the best idea ever. But, while I'm out here on the left coast, away from my minis, my gamers and my painting I thought I'd share with you some of my previous (mostly pre-FOW) painting. Always, when ever I post painted goodies, please feel free to give constructive criticism. So, without further ado, a picture show:
